A vacuum and a wipe-down gets the top layer off. Interior Restoration goes underneath it: crumbs packed into seat rails, sugar dried into cupholders, body oils on the steering wheel, and the grey film that builds on the inside of the windshield.

What you will notice afterwards is mostly what is missing: the stickiness on the console, the gritty feel underfoot, the faint smell that was always there. The cabin looks closer to how it did when you first sat in it, and it is much easier to keep that way.

The order matters. Dust falls down, so we work top to bottom and finish with glass.

1. Remove floor mats and loose items, then do a first pass vacuum with brush and crevice tools.
2. Steam the vents, switchgear, cupholders and door pockets to loosen grime a cloth cannot reach.
3. Pre-treat visible spots, then shampoo and extract the carpets and cloth seats so the dirty water leaves the car instead of sinking back in.
4. Clean the leather with a gentle cleaner and a soft brush, then apply a conditioner that leaves a natural finish rather than a shine.
5. Wipe down the dash, console, door cards and plastics with a safe interior cleaner.
6. Do a final vacuum, clean the glass inside and out of the cabin sightline, and reinstall the mats.
7. Walk around with you, panel by panel. Anything that is not right gets fixed on the spot.

Plan for 2 to 4 hours. A tidy sedan with light use lands near the short end. A family vehicle with ground-in crumbs, or a cabin with a stain history, takes longer because extraction needs time to dry properly.

Drying time is the part people forget. Carpet extraction leaves fibres slightly damp, so we finish with the heavy work early and leave the glass and final touches until the end, giving the cabin as long as possible to air out before you drive.

Because the price is built from a base plus size and add-ons, nothing is hidden. If your car is a sedan with a coffee spill, you pay the base. If it is an SUV with a dog, you pay the base, the size add and the pet hair add-on, and you know that total before we arrive.

A cleaned interior stays cleaner if you change a few habits.

• Keep a small microfibre cloth in the door pocket and wipe the dash weekly.
• Brush salt and sand off mats before it grinds into the carpet.
• Condition leather a few times a year. Our leather seat care guide shows how.
• Do not spray cleaner directly on screens or switches. Spray the cloth.

Most people book again once or twice a year, more often with kids or pets.

One practical note: we need room to open doors fully and a spot for our equipment beside the car. A standard driveway works. A tight underground spot may need a quick conversation first, which is what the photos on the quote form are for.
