Smells come from somewhere
Smoke settles in fabric, headliner and vents. Spilled milk goes into the foam. A forgotten gym bag leaves a smell in the carpet. If the source stays, the smell comes back, usually on the first hot day.
That is why fresheners fail. They add a scent on top and wear off. Real odour removal means cleaning every surface the smell has soaked into, then treating the air path.
Fabric and foam are porous, so smoke particles and spills travel deep. The headliner and the seat padding hold smells longer than the surface material, and the cabin air filter and vents hold the rest. Any plan that skips one of these places will leave a trace.
Our approach, step by step
Smoke and odour treatment is a +$50 add-on to the interior package, which starts from $119 $149.
- Find the source: seats, carpet, boot, under mats, vents and headliner.
- Remove loose material and vacuum deeply.
- Steam to loosen and break down residues.
- Shampoo and extract carpets and fabric seats.
- Clean hard surfaces and glass, where smoke leaves a film.
- Treat the vent system and air path.

Common sources, ranked by how often we meet them
- Food and drink spills. Milk, juice and coffee soak into foam and go sour within days.
- Smoke. Cigarette, vape and cannabis smoke all settle in fabric and leave a film on glass.
- Damp carpet. Wet winter boots and a leaking seal lead to a musty smell.
- Gym and sports gear. Sweat and bacteria in the boot or footwell.
- Pets. Dander and accidents.

Burlington specifics: cold start, heat and humidity
Smells show up at different times. In a Burlington winter, a cold cabin hides odour until the heater runs. In July, a hot car in a parking lot releases it all at once. Damp carpet is another cause: salt and slush from the QEW or 403 keeps floors wet, and wet carpet smells musty within days.
If you suspect damp, tell us. We check under the mats and in the footwells, since the pad beneath can hold water that needs drying out.
What to expect and booking
Allow 2 to 4 hours. Light smells are often gone after a single visit. Heavy, long-term smoke may need a second pass, and we will say so honestly.
