Interior detailing in Waterdown.

Waterdown drivers head out on rural roads, trail parking lots and gravel shoulders, and the cabin shows it. This is how we get dirt out of carpet, not just off the top.

Mud, dust and trail dirt

Dirt from rural roads and trailheads behaves differently from city grime. It is gritty, and grit works into carpet pile where it cuts the fibres every time someone steps on it. A household vacuum rarely gets it all.

We start with a thorough vacuum, using compressed air to blow dust out of seams and vents, then shampoo and extract so the fine particles come out with the water.

Dust also matters for the air you breathe. Fine particles in carpet are kicked up every time you step in, then settle on the dash and vents. Cleaning the carpet removes the source. We finish by wiping the dash, door cards and console with a product matched to each surface, so plastics look even rather than shiny and greasy.

Mats, boots and dogs

Winter brings boots and salt, spring brings mud, and all year round there is the dog. If hair is the main problem, we can add pet hair removal for +$40; the dog hair removal guide explains why it weaves into carpet.

Rubber mats get scrubbed and rinsed; carpet mats are extracted like the floor.

Cargo areas matter too. A boot that carries hockey bags, garden gear or a dog crate collects dirt in the corners and under the liner. We vacuum and steam it as part of the package, so it is ready for the next load.

Step by step

Interior details start from $119 $149, about 2 to 4 hours.

  1. Vacuum and air-blow the whole cabin.
  2. Steam seams, vents and cupholders.
  3. Shampoo and extract carpets, mats and fabric.
  4. Clean and condition leather.
  5. Finish glass, dash and trim.

SUVs and crossovers are common here and add $30; trucks add $40.

Interior detailing with the hair, mud and grit all removed is a good reset before winter, and again in spring.

What to expect on the day

We arrive with our water, power and lighting, so you do not need to run an extension cord or open a tap. After a quick look at the car and what bothers you most, we get going.

When the interior is done, we walk the car with you, panel by panel, and fix anything that is not right on the spot. Our mobile detailing prep guide lists what to clear out first. Paying is easy: card, e-transfer or cash.

Winter salt on mats is common here too. Ask for the +$40 salt add-on if the carpets look white.
