Highway miles, bugs and stone chips
A long commute along the 401 or 407 puts a daily layer of bugs, tar specks and road film on the front end. Bug splatter is acidic and, left on in warm weather, it can dull clear coat. The front bumper, mirrors and lower doors take the worst of it.
We loosen it with a pre-soak, then hand wash gently so we are not grinding it across the paint. If you want to protect the front end afterwards, ask about The Full Detail.
Bumpers need a little extra care. The textured plastic on many modern cars traps tar and bug residue, so we use a soft brush on it rather than a mitt. The same goes for the chrome-effect and gloss black trim around windows, which scratches easily if scrubbed dry.
New builds, new dust
Many Milton neighbourhoods are still growing, so there is often construction activity close by. Fine dust and fallout settle on cars overnight, and once rain mixes with it you get a grey film that streaks when you wipe it with a dry cloth. Newer cars in particular show it on dark paint.

Wheels pick up the same fine dust, which mixes with brake dust into a stubborn paste. We clean the faces, barrels and arches by hand.
